News M-RIC holds its first official public workshop
On Monday 26 June, the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC) held its first official patient and public involvement and engagement workshop at the University of Liverpool’s Management School.
Attendees at the event, which included current and former service users, got the chance to hear about our research plans from one of the lead investigators at M-RIC, Professor Dan Joyce. He discussed our six key research areas and our overall goal to improve mental healthcare through new discovery science, clinical trials, service improvements and new technologies.
There was also a presentation on how patient and public involvement and engagement is at the core of M-RIC’s work and the number of different ways that service users, their families, carers and members of the public can actively take part in our research.
Find out more about our patient and public involvement and engagement work and the opportunities to get involved.
More public events will be announced soon.
